Bag Packing at M&S
from Resources
On 3rd May 2008 Aberdeen Apostolic Church organised to do bag-packing at Marks & Spencer’s to raise funds to help pay for travel costs for a short term mission to Malawi in September.
Jeff Burns writes:
The process was really easy and the staff at M&S were very helpful. Basically once you get the go ahead for the date you just turn up with your buckets, pack bags, interact with customers and watch the money grow!
We had a team of about 20 people helping during the day. M&S advised that groups can make anything from £500-£1,000. Well, Praise God, we received £1,683.03 and had a great time sharing with people what we were doing. So it was not only FUNdraising but also outreach.
To book the event all we had to do was call M&S, speak to the team that arranges bag-packing, give our charity name and number, and then turn up on the day. Tshirts or anything else that makes your team stand out is very helpful and we also printed off some small A5 flyers to give to people who had more than a passing interest.
Hope that gives you not just food for thought but M&S food for thought!
