To live, love, learn and leave a legacy in South Africa
Pastor Ivor and Alice from South Africa write:
During this last trip to Namibia we had some mixed emotions. On the one hand it was sad to say goodbye to people who we have worked with for 10 years and on the other hand we are very happy with the legacy we have left.
Our first contact was Pastor Manuel and Vicky Paulus. We believe that a good foundation has been laid and leaders equipped to carry on the work. It was a joy to travel with Pastor Michael Feder from Cape Town and to introduce him as our missionary who will be supported by the South African churches. Please pray for him as he takes on this great challenge. It will not be easy but Michael is a strong and spiritual young man and well capable to undertake this task. A new Committee will be chosen in November from the South African National Council. They will be responsible to cover the cost of Namibia, Angola and the Democratic of Congo. We are very impressed with their vision and commitment of continuing to invest in these nations.
We read this statement recently, ‘to live, love, learn and leave a legacy’. In mission, the words that often grip us are Jesus’ last words to the
disciples in Matthew 28v19. But Jesus’ first words to His disciples in
Matthew 4v19 also have great significance for us. “Jesus said, ‘Come, follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.
