Care for Joseph in Burma
In the last edition of the ActionOverseas newsletter Joseph was featured for the Burma section, Kids Alive have informed us with more his story:
Joseph’s mum was killed in a road accident. His life and that of his brother and sister were then devastated by Cyclone Nargis, leaving them homeless and destitute. Their father moved far away to find work, leaving six year old Joseph to care for his siblings. In order to live, he stole food or begged. Eventually, they suffered harshly at the hands of adults leaving them desperately in need of care.
At this stage, God led our students to them and they were welcomed into our Yangon Children’s Village. However, we have just found out that Joseph has a cancerous tumour on his brain, the prognosis is not good but we have authorised an operation for him not knowing how successful it will be. At least we believe it will reduce the pain.
Prayer is the only answer for this little lad and we will do all in our power to support and comfort him in the weeks or months ahead, however the Lord will lead.
