Donor generosity brings

‘Christmas presents’ to Malawian families

Alan and Sandra Skene write from Malawi, ‘As you know Christmas in a Malawi village is not connected with tinsel and gift shopping! However it is a time when we are able to share the Christmas story and the gospel with our listeners and this is exactly what we did. We always try to take some small gifts to the mothers on the programme, depending on availability of funds. Thanks to all in the UK who have sent gifts for the feeding programme and which have enabled us to put action to our words.

This year we were able to give more than usual because of these helps. The gifts may not seem much to you, but they make a big difference to the women and there was much singing and joy when we arrived with them! The gift consisted of a water bucket – most needful in this area where the women have to walk great distances to get water- sugar, fruit, salt, tea, cooking oil, beans, juice, matches and soap.

At the moment we have 40 children on our books, some are doing very well and will be leaving the programme soon, making way for new referrals. Once again, many thanks to all who helped to make this possible’.
