Pastor Guido recovering well

Peter Keevil (Chile) broke into his UK furlough to visit Pastor Guido, who had suffered a heart attack. Peter returned to the UK on August 19.

Peter Keevil writes, ‘Pastor Guido’s health has very much improved and actually he preached for the first time since I have been back this last Sunday 16th August. We give thanks to God, and also we would like to thank you for all your prayers for him and his wife Marcia which we are sure have played a vital role in his early recovery.

Marcia his wife is really enjoying seeing the women’s side of the church grow and has been greatly encouraged over different answers to prayer and in seeing the faithfulness of the ladies at their women’s meetings.

Pastor Guido is working hard with the men who attend his Tuesday night men’s bible study. We have begun to see an increase in the numbers attending the Sunday service, and in fact the room where we are meeting is quite small when the children are in the first part of the service.  

One of the areas which is necessary to develop at this time is that of church leadership.   We are planning to start a leadership course with a small group of folks from the church probably starting the second week of September.  

Since Pastor Guido’s illness some of the men have seen the need to commit themselves more to the church work, a case once again where God turns a problem (pastors ill health) into the advancement of His Kingdom!'
