John and Margaret guests at Latvian ‘graduation’

John and Margaret Yeoman write from Latvia:

‘A few weeks ago, when school ended we were invited to the annual end of year celebration, when all schools come together to sing and dance in traditional wear. Here are some pictures of a few children on the day.

Summer time in Latvija is very much a time of change for many of the young people. At the average age of 16 they move out of Elementary School and into High School or specialist Colleges. As we continue to foster relationships with our Platone School, it has afforded us the privilege of being honoured invited guests at one of the ‘rights of passage’ as the youth prepare to say farewell to one stage of life, and hello to another – and it does not always result in a positive transition!

With changing times beginning even to affect Latvija life as far as religion in schools is concerned, we are delighted to know that this hand of friendship remains extended towards us. Pray that it will stay this way in Jesus name.

John and I have just returned from another blessed trip to our church friends in Klaipeda [Lithuania]. John had been asked by Pastor Sergej to bring teaching from Ephesians 6 on the Armour of God. In the Saturday seminar he talked about knowing our enemy and on the Sunday ministered on ‘taking up’ the whole armour of God. The Word was well received’.
